~Two weeks in a day~
2004-07-15 - 2:46 p.m.

I have also decided to update. Woo me. I demand that anyone who hasn't already goes and looks at our holiday photos.

So, about the holiday:

We arrived Saturday, dropped off by my family. They decided to be familyish and hang around for ages, even though I was desperate to get all independent and have it as just the two of us. However, it was also a great help because Tim and I were both shattered, so dad popped to the shop to get a few essentials, mum helped me out in the kitchen, and my brother and boyfriend were incredibly helped. They sat in the lounge and watched football. ON the first day we discovered the cool things about our chalet. It had an upstairs!! We weren't expecting and upstairs, and for some reason having one thrilled me greatly. We also discovered the cupboard in the downstairs loo, which we (I) crawled around in the dark and pretended was a cave, because that's how big and cool it was. So anyway, Saturday was just spent sorting out shopping and bits round the chalet. In the evening we walked down to the beach on our way to the Chinese that was ON SITE!! Woo. This also excited me.

Sunday I dragged Tim out exploring along the beach. Our time was split between walking by the sea edge, and hiking in the dunes. While we were out it decided to pour with rain, which Tim hated and I loved. He hid under the brolly and I pranced about getting soaked, because that's how sane I am. I was really pleased at the hiking and distance I managed to walk, and I only got worn out when we were practically back to our chalet because walking through the sand in the pouring rain was like walking through heavy snow. The rest of the night we bummed around.

Monday we decided to pop into Great Yarmouth, which meant we had to get up early so we could catch the coach from the holiday park at 10:15. In the morning! The morning!! We wandered the shops and ummm and ahhhed for ages about which bakers to buy cakes from (bad thing about living in this city-no bakeries!). After lunch it was a trip down to the sea front, where we walked piers because I felt like it. The sea life centre was of course the highlight of the day, because sad as it may sound for two teenagers to be going to sea life centres, it rocked muchly. And it's not really sad. I don't have pictures of fish because flash photography was banned in some parts and I didn't want to scare the fish even in the parts where you could take photos! The sharks were the most amazing part, obviously, but the coral reefs were so beautiful, and I was amazed by the stone fish (Tim more so by frogs every colour of the rainbow). It rained, so we sat under our (funky yellow and red Kodak) brolly until it was time to go home. OH! Nearly forgot, we also went to the model village, because they're also cool. But the one at Tottenhoe is the best. The one is Great Yarmouth was quite sadistic, actually.

Tuesday we went to Thrigby Wildlife Gardens, which was different (and a lot better) than we expected. It just looked like pretty gardens in the book, but with the promise of reptiles, crocs and tigers, we booked a trip. Most of the photos in the album at the moment are from there. They had red pandas! Which we nearly almost missed. A couple of porcupines suddenly appeared in the otter enclosure halfway through our visit. The crocs and alligators were funky, and we wanted them to snap the heads off all the little brats who were running around in their area and shouting and stuff. Second time we went to see them though (the crocodiles and alligators, not the brats), for some bizarre reason I started getting really panicky and couldn't stay in there because I was freaking out. Woo, fun. I made friends with an attention seeking pig (no, really a pig, not just some smelly person). He was really friendly and lovely, and injured! A travesty. But very funky, as all pigs are. The tiger enclosure was amazing, with four different viewing point for them. One went around the edge of the enclosures, but above it, so you could look down into it. One was underground, and lead halfway into the closure so you could literally look at the windows and see the tigers walking right past you. One was just on the ground looking through the bars (where Mr. Tiger was happy to pose for us after the screaming kids had gone), and, my favourite, the treetop walk. The treetop walk was (supposed to be) one way, because it was only wide enough for you to fit one foot in front of the other. It went right over the top on the inside of the enclosure, which is where we stood to watch the tigers being fed. It was amazing to be so close to them. Probably my favourite day of the holiday.

Wednesday we rested and slept, and didn't get out of our PJs until about 4pm. Thursday was our1 year anniversary (sparkly!) so we had to get out of bed super early to we could be lovey and exchange presents (I got Tim tickets to We Will Rock You), before we went back into Great Yarmouth. Obviously we had to go back to the sea life centre. Twice. In one day. And back to the bakers. I also shopped for food and made Tim carry it all the way home. As we couldn't find anywhere to go out for dinner, I decided I would attempt cooking proper food for the first time ever. It wasn't bad for a first attempt (sausage pasta). Candles were lit on the table, we dressed up posh, and after dinner Tim put Feeder on (the most romantic music we had with us!) and we kind of half danced in our lounge to it. It was amazingly perfect, and me being a girl, I nearly cried because it was so wonderful.

Friday was Pleasure wood Hills. Not so much a theme park and a, uh, non theme park. It kinda sucked, but a couple of the rides weren't bad. We got horrendously bored after a couple of hours though because there was so little to do, and we vowed to go to a proper theme park sometime when home. Back home to pack and enjoy our final night of the holiday. (Sick, sick minds). It was the nicest holiday I've had. Just me and Tim being independent and togethery. Plus, my sleep was fantastic and I managed to do so much.

Sunday was a day of rest, then after being back home for a day, we were off to London to watch We Will Rock You. It. Was. Fantastic. I found the story a little... hmmm... but the musical numbers were absolutely mind-blowing, Shaggelio Gigolo was pretty, it was all just wonderful. I've a slight feeling Tim liked it a tiny, weeny bit.

We saw two musicals in one week! On Friday we went out for dinner here, then onto the theatre to watch Grease (one of my favourite films, but I've never seen it on stage). Jonathon Wilkes was Danny (he was nearly as good as John Travolta, which is a huge compliment coming from someone who loves the film as much as me!). He wasn't the only one who was from the cast of Rocky Horror though-one of the phantoms, Rocky, and Brad was also in it. I prefer the film to the stage version, but it was still wonderful. Only problem was Jonathon was so good that he outshone the rest of the cast far too much-they were good enough to be working alongside him! I'll shut up about him now.

So all in all it was a very busy and very lovely couple of weeks.

And yesterday I taught Tim how to make sausage pasta, and we make cornflake cakes! Because I haven’t done that since I was about 6. I've left mine at Tim's house though, so I'm now cornflake cakeless and being yelled at by my brother because he wanted them too.

A poorly written entry, but there you go. Being back to normal is quite disappointing, really!

(and also we're going to be in a teeny girlie magazine)
